On June 10, 2015, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, “Sakaeronavigatsia” Ltd. and Spanish company “INDRA SISTEMAS S.A.” signed the agreement on procurement of the automated ATC system. Mr. Gocha Mezvrishvili, vice president of the company “INDRA” Mr. Federico Rueda and other officials attended the event.

Winning the international tender announced by “Sakaeronavigatsia” Ltd. by the Spanish company has given Georgia an opportunity to replace the existing high-tech system, which operation period will expire in 1 year, with the most successful ATC systems of Europe. The price of the new system amounts to 15 million GEL. According to the agreement, the Spanish company will install the system, provide the follow-up services and monitor the training process of the employees.

The introduction of new technology will provide a fundamental change of the existing infrastructure, thus contributing to the company’s core activities - even higher standards of flight safety. The new systems will also increase the conductibility of the airspace of Georgia and the company will be able to render high-level navigation services to more foreign airlines. A new ATC system will make the working process much more efficient and comfortable for the air traffic controllers.
