World Meteorological Day

World Meteorological Day is celebrated all over the world today, on the 23rd of March. This event takes its roots from the date of foundation of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). “Sakaeronavigatsia” Ltd. of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia organized the presentation of “Climatological Summary of Georgian Aerodromes” in relation to this date. The meteorological service of the company, serving as the aviation meteorological information provider in Georgia, publishes this book on an annual basis. The book provides the statistical analysis of the meteorological observation data obtained by the meteorological stations of Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Batumi international airports, which is the most important part in the implementation of safe flights.

“I would like to congratulate this professional day to our meteorologists. This is a demanding profession indeed that is directly related to flight safety. I am pleased that we presented the book prepared by our meteorological service “Climatological Summary of Georgian Aerodromes” to the concerned organizations exactly on this day, the book was uploaded by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) on its official website, that demonstrates the high quality of its content and thus we are very proud. This project is another successful step taken to the development of our country’s civil aviation,” - said Mr. Gocha Mezvrishvili, Director General of “Sakaeronavigatsia” Ltd. of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
